So you want to start a blog built on WordPress?

Great decision. WordPress is the most popular website platform that you have heard all the great things about. And so you have made a search and found two websites WordPress.org and WordPress.com and confused between these two.

Is one is fake? Duplicate? No No…

WordPress.org aka “the real WordPress,” is the original WordPress software but WordPress.com is not duplicate. It is the way to give you a start with WordPress.org.

WordPress.org is open source and 100% free for anyone to use. All you need is a domain name and web hosting. This is why it is also referred to as self-hosted WordPress platform.

WordPress.com gives you a subdomain or a domain with a free or a paid hosting to keep your contents without worrying much about server side.

WordPress.com is good if you want to be free from extra WordPress installation and setup, but it has some limitations.

You are under on WordPress.com this means you have not full control over your site. They will kick you out if you go against their rules like hosting something which is not allowed there.

Whereas, WordPress.org gives you the ability to have full control over your site, contents and everything you have. So You never need to worry if anyone can touch your website. It is your site; you can do whatever you want.

WordPress.com will restrict, and not will cook your noodles if you want the variety of species and sometime it will suspend and delete your contents if you try to do it yourself.
