This tutorial provides the simplest way to show a welcome section widget area on the front page of Genesis theme.
The idea:
1. Find the location using Genesis hooks. I have added is genesis_site_header
2. The widget is for front-page only or Global. The snippet is for the front page. Use Conditional tags for more control.
3. How many widgets needed? The default is 1.
4. Transparent image, Background color, and other stuff.
5. Media queries.
There are different ways of how you want to show the section. It could be two widget section of each 50% or manually give an equal width. You can also use flexible widgets in Genesis to build the welcome section.
Here, I have one section with two widgets and results are really impressive after a few CSS tweaks.
